Tsuzumi and Christian welcome you join them in their beautifully restored 150 year old traditional Japanese home, located in the picturesque village of Kameoka, located in Kyoto prefecture. Tsuzumi grew up in the area and she knows its many charms as only a local can. Christian is Italian and a long-time student of the Japanese martial art of Kendo. Both are fluent in English, Italian, and of course Japanese.

Bishamon House
Bishamon House resides at the foot of the eastern mountain range in the ancient village of Bishamon(Guardian God of Buddhism)in Kameoka.
Surrounded by spectacular views of the Kameoka valley the house is just a short stroll from the start of the beautiful 7 Lucky Temples path, and only 10 minutes walk from Cherry Park, famous for its beautiful landscape of more than 1.000 cherry trees.

Kameoka
Older than Kyoto, Kameoka has many cultural heritage sites, including temples and shrines, which are interesting for their beauty, but also that they remain a vibrant aspect of local lives and traditions. Kameoka is just 20 minutes by train from JR Kyoto train station: the route travels through a lush green valley with vistas of rice paddies and traditional villages nestled at the foot of the mountain range.

Access
From JR Kyoto station take the Sagano line, which is the north end of the station(platform 31, 32 and sometimes 33).
*Tokkyu: Kyoto - Nijyo - Kameoka 10 minutes ride(recommended if you have a JR pass).
*Kaisoku: Kyoto - Nijyo - Enmachi - Saga Arashiyama - Kameoka: 20 minutes ride
*Futsu: Kyoto - Tanbaguchi - Nijyo - Hanazono - Enmachi - Saga Arashiyama - Hozukyo - Umahori - Kameoka: 30 minutes ride
There are many trains, every 15 minutes or so.
It takes only 5 minutes from JR Kameoka Station to Bishamon House.
